On-Site Dentistry offers dental care using state-of-the-art mobile facilities. The company provides services to large employer locations in Las Vegas, where it is based. It was previously known as Casino Direct.
Using two mobile units, each of which cost a half-million dollars to outfit, On-Site Dentistry offers the full range of general and cosmetic dental services. A secure electronic medical record system allows patients the opportunity to receive services at any location, with their dental history and X-Rays called up at the touch of a button. The mobile facilities also have flat-screen televisions for patients to watch while undergoing procedures. Despite being mobile, the On-Site Dentistry facilities are more high-tech than most medical offices. They illustrate the advantages of making health care more electronic and efficient.
The company is in growth mode, having recently begun providing services at MGM Grand Casino, Bally's, Paris, Caesars Palace, Circus Circus, and the Flamingo. It already covered The Rio, Stardust, and the Harrah's Entertainment corporate office. It will soon start providing services at Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur. With the addition of the new locations, On-Site Dentistry facilities are available to 200,000 employees and dependents. Visitors can also use the mobile services. The company operates a fixed-address dental office in Northwest Las Vegas.
Chris Davenport, founder and CEO of the six-year old company, said, "With gas hitting $3 a gallon and traffic getting worse all the time, we provide a very convenient way for people to take care of their teeth. People can come in before work, during lunch, or after work - without having to get in their car or sit in a waiting room forever. This is a solution for many people who don't have time to go to a dentist, or are reluctant to get the help they need."
On-Site Dentistry is the only for-profit mobile dental company in Nevada, and one of the few in the nation. As part of its expansion strategy, it is currently in negotiations with employers in industries beyond gaming.
The dental practice used at the mobile facilities is owned by Dr. Chad Gubler. Under Nevada law, only a dentist can own a dental business.
Davenport is a dental hygienist by training. After working in Las Vegas for two years, he realized that he could use new technologies such as secure computer systems, electronic medical records, and mobile dental units to offer convenient services to the busy employees of rapidly growing companies. On-Site Dentistry started operations in 2000.
"Our goal is to keep Las Vegas smiling," he said. |
